In Memory of Sue Sarsfield

Today we attended the funeral at St Philip and St James Church in Severn Way, Bedford, to celebrate the life of Sue Sarsfield, who was one of our Befrienders.

Sue had been volunteering with us since 2009 and did so until earlier this year when she became unwell. We can't tell you how many women Sue visited in her time with us, but we do know that all of those women she visited appreciated her support and encouragement, and her steadfast reliability.

Most recently she was visiting Mabel, pictured here with Sue, who really wanted to come to the funeral, but is sadly still detained and was not allowed to attend.

Mabel sent these words for us to share, 'I hope everything goes well today. May Sue's soul rest in peace, and may her family and those who know her be blessed today. I so much wanted to be there and read out Psalm 23. Love, Mabel'

We are very grateful to have known Sue, and for her years of dedicated support. We will miss her.
